SA native Priest Holmes helps bring truckload of supplies to Harvey victims

As of Monday, Houston Texans’ JJ Watt raised over $19 million in his Houston flood relief campaign.

Watt’s hands on help in Houston along with his push to raise funds for victims of Harvey inspired former NFL running back and San Antonio native Priest Holmes.

“I was watching JJ Watt last week and he was talking about how he was raising funds in order to help evacuees,” Holmes said. “I got inspired by hearing that story.”

On Sunday, Holmes was at the San Antonio Food Bank to receive a truckload of food and supplies from Feed the Children — an Oklahoma City non-profit.

“I thought, ‘Hey, I know someone. I have connections. I was in the league for 11 years, so how can I help these evacuees?'”
